COGENT RESEARCH
The research areas of the COGENT LAB are designed to
emphasize the application of principles of cognition & visual attention
to the design of Augmented and Virtual Reality user experiences.
Dr. Joseph Gabbard has been applying usability engineering methods towards the design of virtual & augmented reality systems for more than 18 years. His lab's work employs user-centered design, human-subjects experiments and human facotrs methods to innovate augmented reality and other novel technology user interfaces in transportation, military and manufacturing/industrial application areas.
